VAWA Victory

Today, the House passed the Senate version of the Violence Against Women Act.

The Senate version was expected to fail, but the Senate VAWA bill won bipartisan support after a split among House Republicans based on their own version of the bill.

President Obama expressed thanks for leaders of both parties, and stated that he looks forward “to signing it into law as soon as it hits my desk.”
